SAN FRANCISCO—On May 19, the San Francisco Fire Department battled a one-alarm fire on the 400 block of Green Street. The fire was reported at 8:36 p.m. when officials responded to reports of a structure fire on the roof of a building.

Multiple 911 calls alerted them to the situation. Firefighters arrived quickly observing a three-story multi use residential over commercial structure with active fire on the roof and initiated an aggressive two-line fire attack, using hand lines both inside the building and via ladders to locate the fire in the walls and on the rooftop.

Swift actions resulted in the fire being extinguished by 8:59 p.m., and it was declared under control with no injuries reported. There has been no displacement for either the residential or commercial portions of the building. Support services will be provided to all affected individuals if needed.

The cause of the fire has been determined to be accidental. The SFPD expresses gratitude to their partners in public safety, including the San Francisco Police Department, for using a drone that provided valuable assistance during this incident.
