SAN FRANCISCO—On February 21, at around 2:30 a.m. the San Francisco Police Department arrested a suspect involved in the shooting of an 18 year-old woman in the area of Market Street and Mason Street.

According to a press release from the SFPD, a witness of the shooting directed officers arriving at the scene. The suspect, Semaj McClure, 23, was walking westbound down Stevenson Alley when officers started their pursuit.

He was followed south of 6th Street before being arrested on the 900 block of Mission Street. McClure was positively identified by the witness and was booked at San Francisco County Jail for attempted murder, resisting or delaying a peace officer and a probation violation.

He is on probation in San Francisco for a 2015 firearms violation committed in the Bayview District, where he fled from police officers before disposing of a gun that was later recovered. The gun had been stolen in the state of Georgia in 2013.

Additional officers located the victim of the shooting; paramedics treated her for a gunshot wound to the leg that was not life-threatening. She was transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
