SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department is partnering with United Playaz for a gun buy-back event on Saturday, December 13, from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. The goal is to end the pollution and be the solution to gun violence – no questions will be asked.
The Police Department will be joined by partners in the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol, and the University of California, San Francisco Police Department.
All weapons will be destroyed.
Handguns = $100
Assault Weapons = $200
Know the facts:
-1 in 3 homes with children have guns, many left unlocked or loaded.
-On an average day, 100 Americans are killed with guns.
-The presence of a gun in a domestic violence situation increases the risk of the woman being killed by five times.
-62 percent of firearm-related deaths in the US are suicides.
