SAN FRANCISCO—On Friday, June 7, the San Francisco Police Department disclosed they are asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest in a possible hate crime incident. The SFPD reported on April 26, at approximately 7:10 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on the 900 block of Grove Street regarding threats that were received.

Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim who indicated he found threatening and racist items that were left in close proximity to his building. Investigators are looking to speak with a person who may have information about the case. The SFPD is seeking the public’s help in identifying the person.

This is an open and active investigation. Anyone with details is asked to contact the SFPD at 1-415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.

“The San Francisco Police Department does not tolerate racism of any kind. No one should be targeted because of their race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other shared characteristic,” the SFPD said in a statement. This case is being actively investigated as a hate crime.
