SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO—San Bruno native Shamsher Rai, 55, was arrested on New Year’s Day, January 2 after he reportedly exposed himself to two women in South San Francisco.

Rai is a registered sex offender currently on parole. The Local Crime News stated that he has previously charged with three felonies that included violation of parole. He was convicted of lewd and lascivious crimes against children in addition to a DUI.

In January 2016, The Daily Journal released a report stating that Rai had been found in the backyard of a San Bruno home. One of the residents reported to the San Bruno police that a man whom he did not know was present in his backyard. Rai was allegedly found prowling and masturbating, officials shared.

Sunday’s incident was reported just after 7:00 a.m. South San Francisco police officials responded to the 300 block of South Maple Avenue. Rai was found hiding in a nearby closed business and identified by the two female victims.

He was arrested on suspicion of incident exposure and violation of parole. He is being detained at the San Mateo County Jail, officials said.
