SAN FRANCISCO—Officials from the San Francisco Police Department have recovered a flute estimated worth $15,000 that was stolen from the victim during a vehicle break-in on February 14.

The SFPD reported that on February 14, at approximately 10:00 p.m. a San Francisco resident parked his vehicle on the 800 block of 35th Avenue. When he returned to his car around 8:00 a.m. on February 15, he discovered that his car was unlocked and a case containing his wife’s flute was missing. The victim filed a police report regarding the incident.

On February 15 at approximately 7:07 a.m., officers from the Tenderloin Station patrolling the 800 block of Eddy Street spotted a subject whom they recognized from a department email stating that subject had probable cause for arrest for burglary.

Officers contacted the subject, Sean Gagnon, 33, who has been identified as a transient under arrest without incident. He was booked at the San Francisco County Jail for burglary and possession of stolen property. The stolen flute was found in Gagnon’s property and was returned to its owner.
