SAN FRANCISCO—On December 3, 2024, the San Francisco Police Department announced a suspect has been arrested in connection to a 2023 homicide.
The SFPD reported on January 12, 2023, the SFPD issued a news release asking for the public’s help in locating missing adult Maxwell George Maltzman who was last seen at his home on the 900 block of Sutter Street in San Francisco on Friday, January 6, 2023, at approximately 2:30 p.m. On January 23, 2023, Maltzman was located deceased in San Francisco’s Bayview District.
The SFPD Homicide Detail began an investigation into the death of Maltzman. The San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner also conducted an investigation. The investigations determined that the death of Maxwell George Maltzman was a homicide.
During the course of the investigation, SFPD Homicide Detail investigators obtained evidence to determine the identity of the homicide suspect. Homicide Detail investigators developed probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant for the suspect and a search warrant for the suspect’s residence.
On November 29, 2024, at approximately 8:22 a.m. the SFPD Tactical Unit and the SFPD Homicide Detail located and arrested the suspect on the unit block of Ahern Way. Investigators served the search warrant on the suspect’s residence and located evidence that was seized.
The suspect identified as 19-year-old male from San Francisco was transported to the Juvenile Justice Center where he was booked on charges of Homicide (187(a) PC) and Conspiracy (182(a)(1) PC). The SFPD is still investigating the case.
