HOLLYWOOD—The penultimate episode of “True Blood” airs next Sunday, but before we could get to that we had to deal with ‘Almost Home’ which saw the demise of a character that quickly had a turn for the dark side. So just who saw the true death? Well, Jason’s (Ryan Kwanten) scorned lover Violet!

The episode opened with Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) capturing Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp). It led to a tense standoff where Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) threatened to kill herself if Eric killed Sarah. He decided to feed off of Sarah and was miraculously healed. Looked like Mr. Gus has monetary plans for Sarah, just as Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Bill (Stephen Moyer) cuddled and chatted about their predicament.

Lettie Mae (Adina Porter) and Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) continued to dig the front yard of Tara’s (Rutina Wesley) childhood home. The Reverend was none too pleased with his wife’s actions, suspecting that she has completely lost it. A flashback scene revealed Tara, Sookie and Lafayette playing at a birthday party, before the party was crashed by her alcoholic and abusive father.

It was quite the emotional scene to say the least. This led a young Tara to retrieve her father’s gun with plans to shoot and kill her father, but in a panic she ran outside and buried the gun away. Tara’s journey came to an end when she informed her mother of her intent and how she wanted to bury the hatchet, once and for all.

Hoyt (Jim Parrack), his girlfriend and Jason reminisced about old photos and the discussion of children came to the surface. Hoyt had no intention of becoming a father, which left his girlfriend a bit rattled. Jason received pictures of Adilyn, Wade and Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) gagged and threatened by Violet. Andy (Chris Bauer) and Holly (Lauren Bowles) were a complete mess after discovering their offspring were in grave danger.

Back at Fangtasia, Mr. Gus attempted to broker a deal with Eric and Pam, where threats were made about keeping the location of Sarah Newline top secret, but also not revealing that she is the cure to the Hep-v virus. Jason arrived at Violet’s place guns blazing, but could this wannabe cop be prepared for the twisted plans his former flame has in store for him? Without so much as a glance, Violet began to discuss her plans to dismantle her prisoners by crushing a skull, ripping apart a chest, draining blood and torturing Jason. Violet’s inability to stop talking led to her demise when Hoyt fired a wooden bullet into the back of her chest ending a bloodbath.

Jessica was mesmerized at the sight of seeing Hoyt again; it’s like a forbidden love has been resurrected again. The two chatted and the chemistry between them oozed through the TV screen, just as Jason and Bridgette bonded over their predicament. Sookie was awakened from her sleep by Eric. Her discovery that he has been healed prompted her to ask Eric to help save Bill’s life. He appeared a bit conflicted about the situation, which prompted Sookie to chase after another one of her suitors.

Sook was a bit frazzled when she arrived at Fangtasia and to be confronted by members of the Yakuza.  Pam and Eric were stunned to realize Sookie arrived at the establishment. He attempted to get rid of his flame by concocting some weird story, and she read Mr. Gus’ mind and learned of something being hidden in the basement.

Hoyt arrives at Jessica’s place, and the former lovers picked up where they left off. They both chat about not wanting to have kids. Sookie broke into the basement and discovered a tied up Sarah Newlin and discovered that she was the cure to the Hep-v virus, and left her nemesis held captive. Sookie informed Jessica that there is a cure, and it’s at Fangtasia. Bill had a strange vision of Sookie holding his child and it left him unnerved.

Mr. Gus made threats to Pam and Eric as he made plans to travel out of town. The best friends arrived in the basement, but were confronted by Sookie, Jessica and Bill. Bill decided not to drink Sarah’s blood, which left everyone speechless!

Ok, so I’m expecting next week’s episode to be a bloodbath to the finish leading up to the finale. Any guesses as who will make it to the end? Until next Sunday “True Blood” fanatics!
