SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department announced that 2 suspects have been arrested in connection to a series of armed robberies that have transpired in the region. The SFPD reported that between the dates of September 26 and October 4, three armed commercial robberies occurred in and around the Mission District.

The robberies all transpired in the midnight to early morning hours. The robberies involved the taking over of businesses and forcing victims onto the floor or corralling them into back rooms at gunpoint. In two of the robberies, the suspects pistol-whipped the victims. In each robbery, the suspects stole money and merchandise, and in two of the incidents, the suspects stole the businesses’ ATMs.

The SFPD’s Night Investigations Unit took over the investigation and determined all three robberies were committed by the same suspects.  During the course of the investigation, SFPD investigators identified one of the suspects as Jacquez Tucker, 32, of San Francisco, and developed probable cause to arrest Tucker.

On October 4, the SFPD Tenderloin Plain Clothes Team, SFPD Mission Plain Clothes Team, SFPD Community Violence Reduction Team, SFPD Robbery Unit, SFPD Night Investigations Unit, and SFPD Specialists initiated an operation to take the suspects into custody. Plainclothes officers began conducting surveillance of Tucker as he drove the suspect vehicle around San Francisco.  During the course of the surveillance, Tucker picked up a second male believed to be one of his co-conspirators.

Officers followed the suspect vehicle until the suspects could be safely apprehended. Officers spotted the suspect vehicle park in the area of Silver Avenue and San Bruno Avenue.  When Tucker exited the vehicle, authorities responded and took both Tucker and the second suspect into custody without incident.

The second male was identified as Lloyd Gage, 33. He was wearing the same clothing and shoes worn during the robberies and was in possession of the distinct short-barreled rifle, also used during the crimes.

A search warrant was executed at Tucker’s residence. The clothing and shoes worn by Tucker during the robberies, as well as two pistols, and merchandise stolen in the crimes were located and seized during the warrant.

Tucker was booked at San Francisco County Jail #1 on the charges of seven counts of robbery (211 PC), four counts of kidnapping (207 PC), two counts of assault with a deadly weapon (245(a)(1) PC), false imprisonment (236 PC), three counts of use of a firearm during commission of a felony (12022.5(a) PC, three counts of use of a firearm during a felony (12022.53(b) PC), three counts of criminal conspiracy (182 PC), and three counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person (29800(a)(1) PC).
