SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department arrested a suspect in connection to a stabbing that transpired on Sunday, May 24. On Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the annual Carnaval San Francisco parade took place through the Mission District, with thousands of attendees.
One hour after the end of the parade, at approximately 3:15 p.m., near the intersections of 19th Street and Mission Street, a fight broke out. Officers from the San Francisco Police Department was rapidly able to respond to the fight. A stabbing occurred with an unidentified, adult male, who sustained life-threatening injuries. According to the SFPD and San Francisco Fire Department, he was rushed to a local San Francisco hospital in critical condition.
An unidentified, adult male, who matched a description provided by witnesses at the scene, was apprehended a few blocks away in close proximity at 24th Street and Mission Street by authorities. He was tracked down and located as he was running from the crime scene. The SFPD booked the suspect who is currently in police custody. The name and age of the suspect have not been disclosed to the public.
