SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department arrested two suspects on March 6, in connection with the possession, sales and manufacturing of explosives. According to a press release from the SFPD website, Sean Patrick Gunther, 37, of San Pablo, and Marc Steven Ormando, 47, of Pacifica, were booked on several counts of unlawful possession and sale of destructive devices and related offenses.

The Special Investigation Division implemented the undercover operation that lasted for several months where search warrants were provided at both Gunther’s and Ormando’s homes. Authorities found explosives and illegal narcotics at the home of Gunther. Police confiscated a large cache of explosives, 17 firearms which included handguns and rifles, and large barrels with explosive making chemicals were found at Ormando’s home.

The FBI, U.S. Marshals, and the Marin County Task Force assisted the SFPD with the arrest of both suspects. The SFPD would like to thank these agencies for their assistance.
