SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department is asking for the public’s help to catch the suspect who attempted to murder another person after having a verbal altercation.

The incident occurred on August 31 at approximately 2:15 p.m. near the area of Golden Gate and Broderick. The suspect almost struck the victim with his vehicle who was in the crosswalk.  A verbal dispute occurred between both parties and the suspect pulled into a driveway down the street. He then shot the victim from about 30 to 50 feet away.

The suspect then drove closer to the victim and fired his weapon a second time before fleeing the scene. Authorities have indicated the victim is recovering and is expected to survive.

The suspect is described as an Asian male, between 20-29 years old; he has dark or tanned skin and did not have an accent when speaking English. He was last seen wearing a backwards baseball cap, possibly red, with a flat brim. His vehicle is described as a two door, newer Honda Civic or Accord, with a polished metallic gray color.

Authorities are warning the public that the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on the incident or the whereabouts of the suspect is asked to contact San Francisco Police anonymously at 415-575-4444 or text-a-tip to TIP411 with SFPD at the start of the message.
