HOLLYWOOD—Actor Anthony Michael Hall, 48, has been charged with felony assault for serious bodily injury and could face up to seven years in prison for allegedly assaulting his neighbor.

According to reports, Hall and his neighbor were involved in an argument outside their Playa del Rey condo complex in September 2016. The altercation reportedly left Hall’s neighbor with a broken wrist and injured back; the confrontation was caught on camera and posted by TMZ. In the video, it appears that Hall pushes his neighbor to the ground.

A neighbor who did not want to be identified, explained to Entertainment Tonight that the altercation happened over an open gate.

“A gate in the complex was open, somebody else walked through it and that’s where the whole gate thing started,” said the neighbor.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has charged Hall, but he has not yet been booked. There is currently no arraignment date set. The district attorney’s office notes they will likely recommend Hall’s bail to be set at $80,000.

The actor has been involved in other altercations with his neighbors. In 2011, Hall was arrested for disturbing the peace after a loud argument with a neighbor. Witnesses inside the complex told the Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Division, “Hall tore up plants in the common area of their complex.”

In 2009, he was ordered  by a judge to stay away from his ex-girlfriend Diana Falzone, after a series of domestic events.

The  actor is best known for his roles in 1980s movies like, “The Breakfast Club,” “Sixteen Candles,” and “Weird Science.”
