SAN FRANCISCO—A viral video shot on Thursday, May 14 and published on May 15 by Abby Huffman. She is the daughter of United States Congressman Jared Huffman, representing the North Coast of California and the border of Oregon, including Marin, Sonoma, Mendocino, Humboldt, Trinity and Del Norte counties. Abby captured a deer swimming during a daytime commuter ferry ride in San Francisco Bay far from the shoreline.
In the video, alongside Huffman, other passengers saw the deer paddling. People were shocked at the wildlife scene, but wildlife experts said deer are excellent swimmers. The ferry had to slow down to avoid colliding with it.
With the video, Huffman posted the caption: “Look closely, it’s not a whale that caused the boat to suddenly slow down, and it’s not AI, it’s something ‘deer’ to all of us!”
