SAN FRANCISCO—On Sunday, May 17, a fatal shooting occurred on the 2,500 block of 46th Avenue near Ulloa Avenue in the Taraval District. Officers from the San Francisco Police Department were dispatched to the crime scene at 5:21 a.m. after reports of gunshots in the area.

Officers arrived on the scene and located a victim, who sustained many gunshot wounds and provided first aid. They were later assisted by paramedics, but the victim died at the scene. The name and age of the victim have not been disclosed to the public.

The fatal shooting is an active investigation with the San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail. Details about the suspect and have not been released the public.

This murder is now San Francisco’s 17th homicide for 2026, an increase from violent crime compared to the same time period in 2025.
