HOLLYWOOD—There are plenty of shake-ups taking place on ABC’s hit “Dancing With the Stars.” In recent weeks it was announced that it was releasing Harold Wheeler and his orchestra band which has been with the show since the start, in addition, previous host Brooke Burke-Charvet was let go on Friday, February 21.  The actress and host voiced the revelation in the public sphere on Twitter stating, “I’ve seen my fair share of shocking eliminations in the ballroom but this one takes the cake.”

Burke-Charvet competed in the reality competition back in season seven where she won with partner Derek Hough. She later became co-host with Tom Bergeron from season 10 to season 17.  Replacing Charvet is former contestant and Fox sports reporter Erin Andrews. Andrews competed in season 10 of “Dancing With the Stars” where she came in third place with her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

With so many changes happening behind the scenes, it forces fans of the series to question rather “Dancing With the Stars” is on its last leg, like “American Idol.” There are only so many seasons a show can do before having to reinvent itself to maintain its audience. The eighteenth season of reality hit premieres on Monday, March 17 on ABC.
