SAN FRANCISCO—Officers from the San Francisco Police Department are requesting assistance from the public in relation to a group of people who stole several thousand dollars worth of luxury merchandise from the high-end store, Ferragamo, near Union Square on Tuesday, February 9.

According to SFPD Officer Michael Andraychak, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a group of men and women entered the luxury department store on Post and Grant streets and began collecting items.

As the group approached the exit they were quickly stopped by a store employee who attempted to prevent the individuals from leaving the store without paying. Andraychak stated that the group “used force” to complete the theft before fleeing from the scene of the incident.

Ferragamo is a luxury retail brand, where prices for items range in the hundreds to the thousands. Andraychak announced that the estimated cost of all goods and apparel stolen was equivalent to over $10,000.

The SFPD is requesting anyone with information to call investigators at (415) 315-2400 or the anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444.
