GEORGIA—On Wednesday, August 26, a deputy who was suffering from a stroke was saved by a group of inmates.

The Gwinnett Sheriff’s Office tweeted the following statement:

“These inmates came to the rescue of our deputy when he suffered a stroke in the jail housing unit where he supervised them. They saved his life. We appreciate their efforts and are happy to report Deputy P. Edmund has fully recovered and will be at work soon.”

Harmett Kaur from CNN, reported that their efforts will be rewarded with movies and pizza.

This is not the first time a group of incarcerated individuals saved an officer on Tuesday, July 28, where three inmates noticed Deputy W. Hobbs was suffering a cardiac emergency inside a jail housing unit according to the Gwinnett Sheriff’s Twitter account.

Representatives of Gwinnett County Sheriff’s office have not responded to the San Francisco News for comment.
