SAN FRANCISCO—A group of nine juveniles assaulted and robbed two young girls at a Bayview neighborhood playground on Sunday, June 19, Officer Giselle Talkoff confirmed to San Francisco News.

Between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Sunday,  two girls, ages 11 and 13, were surrounded by the group of juveniles at the Gilman Playground on Gilman Avenue at Griffith Street. The group threatened the victims and tried to engage in a fight. The 11-year-old was robbed of her money and pushed to the ground. The 13-year-old was punched in the face and hit in the back of the head. Only three of the suspects were involved in the altercation.

The suspects fled on foot and the San Francisco Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance to identify the suspects in the crime. The oldest suspect was described as being either a 16 or 17 year-old and his eight accomplices are between the ages of 9 and 10 years old.

Paramedics treated the two victims at the scene for minor injuries. No arrests have been made, or any motives for the crime. Anyone with information on the assault are asked to contact the SFPD.
