SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department Special Victims Unit (SVU) is asking for the public’s assistance to locate the suspect responsible for a sexual assault on a juvenile victim.

According to a press release from the SFPD, the assault occurred on September 27 at 1:45 p.m. when the victim entered the restroom at the San Francisco Public Library located on the 1500 block of Scott Street. While inside the facility, the suspect approached the victim and assaulted him. The victim exited the restroom and alerted his mother who was outside waiting.

He called for help, which prompted the suspect to flee the building on foot heading southbound on Scott Street. The suspect is described by authorities as a white male, between the ages of 28-32, standing 5 feet and 8 inches tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds.

The suspect was seen wearing a grey sweatshirt, grey jean shorts, and was described as being clean shaven during the assault.
