SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department is asking for the public’s help to solve the October 2016 murder of 26 year-old Jon Sanyaolu of Stockton. On October 2, 2016, at approximately 2:25 a.m. officers from the SFPD responded to a report of shots fired in the region of 6th Street and Bryant Street. According to a press release from the SFPD, when officers arrived on the scene they found Sanyaolu lying in the roadway on the 400 block of 6th Street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was transported to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital where he later died from injuries he sustained. Two additional gunshot victims were located at the scene, a 28 year-old male and a 26 year-old male, both residents of Oakland. Both victims were transported to local hospital to be treated for their injuries and later released.
The SFPD reported that all three victims were at The END UP night club on the 400 block of 6th Street to meet female friends. As they were leaving the club, a physical fight broke out and shots were fired by the unknown suspect(s) who later fled the scene of the crime.
On Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m., the San Francisco Police Department held a media availability at the Police Headquarters to ask for public’s help in solving an open homicide investigation. Police are aware that numerous people were inside and around the night club at the time of the shooting. Homicide investigators are asking anyone who may have been or near the night club during or just after the shooting to contact the SFPD.
