HOLLYWOOD—Looking at the firepit, I just can’t imagine the devastation of the fires in California. Amid the chaos, some celebrities are posting about the impact of the wildfires and showcasing the damage throughout Los Angeles County. So many Hollywood celebrities have reported that the flames have destroyed their homes. So sad to see an Oscar statuette amid the devastation. Just as the annual Hollywood awards season kicked off, the fires prompted red carpet event cancellations, delays in much-anticipated nominations announcements, and temporary halts to film production in the area.
The most recent to postpone is the Duchess of Sussex’s new Netflix show that has been postponed until March due to the Los Angeles wildfires, the streaming giant has announced. The lifestyle series, which was filmed in southern California, had been due to premiere this week. Netflix said it had offered its full support to Meghan’s request to delay the release. At least 24 people have been killed and forcing hundreds of thousands to evacuate their homes. Netflix actually released a statement, describing the upcoming program as a “heartfelt tribute to the beauty of southern California, adding that it was moving the premiere of “With Love, Meghan” over the ongoing devastation caused by the fires. The program filmed in the southern California town of Montecito, where Meghan and her husband Prince Harry live, it will now air on March 4, Netflix said.
The wildfires as of press time, have not yet spread to the coastal enclave, which is located around 99 miles north-west of Los Angeles. It’s still considered high in the fire risk rating by the Montecito Fire Department. The series “With Love, Meghan,” includes eight 30-minute episodes featuring appearances from celebrities such as actress Mindy Kaling and former Suits star Abigail Spencer. “Suits,” the series by Netflix was wonderful, it starred Meghan Markle and so many talented actors. Absolutely loved it.
In the trailer released earlier this month, Meghan garnishes a cake with raspberries and harvests honey in California, where she lives with her husband Prince Harry and two children. Last week, Prince Harry and Meghan were seen hugging residents in the devastated area of Pasadena in the wake of the worst wildfires LA has ever seen. While so many celebrities have lost their beautiful homes, let’s not forget that not everyone in LA is rich and people need help. LA is not populated solely by the rich and famous.
If you think that celebrities can rebuild, since they have millions, you can never bring back the beautiful memories, pictures that have sentimental value. No money in the world can replace that. Actor Billy Crystal and his wife Janice lost their Pacific Palisades home in the fires. Paris Hilton’s home was among those destroyed amid the wildfires. Her Malibu home was burned to the ground, as she posted on Instagram. She added that while her loss was overwhelming, she was grateful that her family was safe. She also extended her prayers to others who have been affected by the wildfires and shared that she was in contact with nonprofit organizations on how to help the community.
The “Hills,” alum Heidi Montag shared an emotional TikTok video last week in which she revealed the house she shares with husband Spencer Pratt and their children had burned down.
“General Hospital” actor Cameron Mathison also shared a video to Instagram showing the devastation left behind by the fire and revealing his house burned down in the blaze. Ricki Lake also turned to Instagram, about the loss of her and her husband Ross Burningham’s dream home had been lost.
Television chef Sandra Lee shared a video in which she revealed her home had been destroyed by the fire. Lee who was in a relationship with the former Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo continued to ask for prayers. “Please keep our community, the firefighters and the first responders in your prayers. This is not over, not even close.” “Dirty Dancing” actress Jennifer Grey’s daughter, Stella Gregg, shared an Instagram story last week about her mother’s home that burned down. Steve Guttenberg, Mandy Moore, James Woods, Chris Pratt, Mark Hamill, Eugene Levy and so many other celebrities have either lost their homes or been told to evacuate their homes.
