SAN FRANCISCO—Officers from the San Francisco Police Department arrested a man who vandalized an unoccupied patrol car on November 20.

Richard Hector Padilla, 55, broke both driver side windows of the car that was located on Hyde and Market Streets. After he vandalized the unoccupied vehicle, Padilla fled the scene.

Authorities identified Padilla and sent out a crime alert to all officers. An off-duty cop spotted the suspect walk into a bank on November 21. After requesting for back up, multiple officers arrived at the bank located on 23rd and Mission Streets. They arrested Padilla on the scene. He was taken into police custody and booked at the San Francisco County Jail. He is being charged with felony vandalism.
