SAN FRANCISCO—Authorities arrested a 47-year-old man after a video was posted to Twitter on October 29 of the individual making threats while handling chainsaws on a BART train.

Patrick Bingman was caught on camera taking out what appeared to be brand new chainsaws out of boxes and proceeding to attempt to turn them on. One passenger caught the whole thing on camera and tweeted the video to BART.

“I was on the Richmond train they stopped him when he got off at Lake Merritt coming from Fremont y’all didn’t do anything UNTIL HE GOT OFF why did y’all wait!????????,” tweeted one passenger.

Another patron on the train tweeted, “THIS S** AINT FUNNY @SFBART YALL HAVE TO DO BETTER WHAT THE F***.”

Bingman can be seen in the video taking a chainsaw out of another box and messing around with the device as he is heard in the background mumbling “Cut your head off.”

SF BART replied with a tweet that read:

“Police received multiple calls and officers quickly positioned themselves to board the train when the man actually got off. There was no waiting to respond, they acted within minutes.”

Bingman exited the train at the Lake Merritt Station where police arrested him. He was arrested for making criminal threats, suspicion of criminal threats, possession of stolen property and outstanding warrants at booked at the Alameda County Jail.
