SAN FRANCISCO—On Friday, September 5, the San Francisco Police Department reported that they are investigating multiple illegal gambling operations that have transpired in the city.

The SFPD reported on September 3, officers assigned to Mission Station, Tenderloin Station, Narcotics Division, Citywide Plainclothes Team, Tactical Unit, and SFPD K-9 “Cooper” executed five search warrant services at businesses located on the 300 block of Turk Street, 1900 block of Mission Street, and the 2000 block of Mission Street.

During the search warrant service, investigators detained several subjects. Officers conducted a search of the premises and seized evidence of illegal gambling, including over 30 illegal gambling machines, over $17,000 in U.S. currency, suspected narcotics, numerous containers of nitrous oxide, and weapons.

Officers developed probable cause to arrest four males for violations related to operating an illegal gambling parlor, outstanding arrest warrants, possession of narcotics, and weapons.

Anthony Williams, 35, of Modesto was booked on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia (11364(a) H&S) and for two outstanding out-of-county warrants.

Ali Abdulrahman Alghaithi, 38, of San Francisco was booked on the charges of possession of methamphetamine for sale (11378 H&S), bookmaking, pool-selling and wagering (337 PC), participating in illegal gambling (330(a) PC), illegal gambling (330 PC), possessing a switchblade (21510 PC), possession of brass knuckles (21810 PC), possession of nitrous oxide (381(a) PC), operating and maintaining a drug house (11366 H&S).

Elias Matalka, 21, of San Francisco was booked on the charges of participating in illegal gambling (330(a) PC) and three counts of bookmaking, pool-selling, and wagering (337a(a) PC).

Dante Francisco Osorio, 24, of San Francisco was booked on the charges of participating in illegal gambling (330(a) PC) and 3 counts of bookmaking, pool-selling, and wagering (337a(a) PC).
