SAN FRANCISCO—On Wednesday, December 3, an one-alarm fire broke out at a two-story, single-family home on the 200 block of London Street in the Excelsior District. The exact cause of the fire is pending upon further investigation by both the San Francisco Police Department and the San Francisco Fire Department.

At 2:06 p.m., crews were officially dispatched to the inferno. Shortly after  2 p.m., the SFFD received notifications about a fire in a residential area on London Street in the Excelsior District at a two-storied, single-family house.

From 2:09 p.m. to 2:26 p.m., when firefighters first arrived at the residence, they found that it was already immersed in flames, resulting in launching an aggressive, interior attack on the home while conducting rescue operations of anyone who was found still within the building, dead or alive.

At approximately 2:09 p.m., Engine Company 43, which consists of over 40 firefighters in attendance, arrived at the Excelsior residence within three minutes of being dispatched.

On December 3, by 2:26 p.m., the SFFD extinguished the inferno. During the rescue mission, firefighters found one individual inside the residence. Although firefighters attempted to rescue the individual, the victim succumbed to their life-threatening injuries, declaring the individual deceased.

The emergency response personnel at the time of the fire resulted in London Street temporarily closed off for oncoming traffic. The identity of the victim has not yet been released until their death has been notified to family members. There have not been any witnesses to come forward with the investigation.
