SAN FRANCISCO—Four police officers from the Baltimore Police Department were suspended to desk jobs, doing administrative work on November 17. The powers of these four police officers were suspended following Baltimore State law, and they are now awaiting the results of the pending investigation.
The quartet of police officers have not been formally charged at San Francisco Superior Court, and they are not in police custody. The Office of the San Francisco District Attorney has not released a comment on the case since it is still pending upon further investigation.
Prior to November 17, an unpublicized event transpired in San Francisco, which was the catalyst that San Francisco Police Department needed to prompt it into a criminal investigation. The investigation involved four police officers of the Baltimore Police Department, and the SFPD is leading the investigation into the nature of the criminal activity.
According to the Baltimore Banner, the police officers from the Baltimore Police Department who were suspended are as follows: 37-year-old District Commander Jai J. Etwaroo of the Eastern District, who had been serving for the Baltimore Police Department since 2010; 33-year-old Officer Juan L. Rivas, who had been serving since November 2016; 42-year-old Officer Angel L.Villaronga, who is known for his de-escalation tactics, talking down a suicidal man as seen on his body camera in 2017, had been serving since Tuesday, January 27, 2009 and 26-year-old Officer Jahmoor A. Acosta, who had been serving since Monday, October 3, 2016.
