SAN FRANCISCO—On Tuesday, March 26, the San Francisco Police Department announced an arrest has been made in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred in January 2024.

The SFPD reported on January 14, at approximately 12:07 a.m., officers from Southern Station responded to the 100 block of Berry Street on a report of a shooting.

Officers responded to the scene and located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers provided aid to the victim and summoned paramedics to the scene that transported the victim to a local hospital for life-threatening injuries, where he later died. A second adult male victim was located on scene and was treated by medics for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators from the San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail led the investigation. During the course of their investigation, Investigators identified Ranjeet Dodds, 20, as a suspect involved in the homicide and developed probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant.

On March 19, Dodds was taken into custody in San Jose. With the collaborative efforts of the San Francisco Police Department and the San Jose Police Department, Dodds was booked into San Francisco County Jail #1 for the charge of murder (187(a)PC).
