SAN FRANCISCO—Officials from the San Francisco Police Department have released video surveillance of an armed robbery that transpired in a Bernal Heights neighborhood on May 13 at 1:30 a.m. The perpetrator, who was waiting in a dark colored SUV as seen in the video, confronted the three victims as they arrived at an apartment.

The cameras set in place by one of the victim’s in the incident captured the ordeal as it transpired, including audio of the mugging, ABC 7 News first reported. The suspect’s voice can be heard clearly in the video, as well as him informing the victims several times to not turn around or he would “shoot them in the leg.” The culprit took cash, wallets and jewelry.

The entirety of an armed robbery in the Bernal Heights district was captured thanks to crystal-clear video surveillance of the homeowner.

Captain Jack Hart of the Ingleside Police Station told ABC 7 News “Because the quality [of the video] is so great and the availability of video is so great, we are finding that so many of these cases are more solvable now.” After obtaining the valuables from the victims, the suspect fled the scene in the dark SUV that was waiting nearby with the suspect’s accomplice.

Anyone with information on the suspect(s) or the incident is asked to contact the San Francisco Police Department. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
