SAN FRANCISCO—On Monday, August 18, the SFFD announced that they battled a one-alarm fire on 3rd Street shortly after 5:20 p.m. The fire was reported by a neighbor and called 911.

SFFD firefighters from Fire Station 17 arrived on scene to find smoke in the air and fire investigators between two buildings.

The fire was quickly determined to be in a vacant structure that was boarded up and a body living in it. The fire was extinguished and SFFD fire investigators were called out to investigate the fires origin; PG&E, SFPD, and the Department of Building Inspection was called out to examine the structural integrity of the building.

There were no reports of any injuries, and the building was turned over to the owner.
