SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department has identified a man responsible for vandalizing a police cruiser on July 21. The suspect, 24-year-old San Francisco resident, Neil Norgren.

At approximately 12:49 a.m., officers responded to a call of a report of an act of vandalism at the intersection of 16th and Albion Street in the Mission District. Officers parked their police vehicle on the southwest corner, while investigating the potential defacing of property.

Upon investigating, authorities heard obscenities being yelled in the direction of their vehicle. The obscenities were followed by a loud bang. Officers rushed back to their cruiser to find shattered glass near the rear of their car and Norgren nearby. Video posted to social media captured Norgren fleeing the scene on a skateboard.

Officers were able to detain Norgren after a short foot chase. He was booked at the San Francisco County Jail on charges of vandalism, resisting arrest, and a traffic violation.
