SAN FRANCISCO—On Wednesday, December 5, the San Francisco Police Department conducted a successful undercover operation to crack down on drug dealers in the Tenderloin District, where seven individuals were taken into custody. 

All seven suspects were taken into custody within a three-hour period. The SFPD was able to confirm the dates, times, and identities of the suspects during the operation with the San Francisco News.   

The first suspect arrested was 44 year-old Luis Mendez, who was charged with the sale of crack cocaine to a police officer and violating a court stay-away order from a previous narcotics sales case. Mendez was arrested at 10:57 a.m. on the 800 block of Larkin Street.

At 11:10 a.m., Marlon Velasquez-Diaz, 21, was arrested and charged with the sale of crack cocaine to and undercover SFPD officer near a school with children present, in addition to possession for sale of heroin, possession for sale of Fentanyl and possession for sale of crack cocaine. He was arrested on the 400 block of Turk Street.  

Officers later apprehended Levin Gaheas, 30, in the area of Larkin and McAllister Streets at 11:24 a.m..  He was charged with the sale of heroin to an undercover officer near a school with children present, possession and for sale of heroin, and the possession of sale of crack cocaine.  

At 11:40 a.m., officers arrested 36 year old Veronica Romero. She was charged with sale of crack cocaine to an undercover officer, possession for sale of heroin, methamphetamine, and crack cocaine.  Romero was arrested on the unit block of Grove Street.

Ten minutes later at 11:50 a.m., officers arrested Jonathan Orellanda, 32, in the area of 8th and Market Streets.  He was charged with the sale of heroin to an undercover officer near a school with children present, possession for sale of methamphetamines and crack cocaine, two warrants for his arrest (one for a previous narcotics arrest), and  the other warrant was for committing a felony while out on OR.  

At 1:53 p.m. on the 200 block of Golden Gate Avenue, Charles Prince, 49, was arrested. He was charged with the sale of Xanax to an undercover San Francisco Police Department officer near a school with children present,  and for the possession for sale of Xanax, hydrocodone, Adderall, and heroin. Prince also attempted to resist arrest when officers tried to take him into custody.   

The final suspect, a juvenile was arrested on the 200 block of Leavenworth Street. He was charged with the sale of methamphetamine to an undercover officer near a school with children present, possessing a concealed loaded 9MM pistol, a violation of juvenile probation, and the possession for sale of methamphetamines as well as Alprazolam.
