HOLLYWOOD—Sorry, I’m just going to say it. “Survivor” could have added on an hour last week and wrapped up the season. This stupid, let’s break the finale up into two parts made absolutely no sense, and I hope they don’t do this next season. I mean we have a 2-hour finale with only 4 people left? Yeah, the fire-making at final 4 is NOT AS EXCITING AS the producers of the series seems to think. Truth be told, it needs to go back to a vote out to elevate the social dynamics of the game.
Then after that, you simply have the Final Tribal Council where the remaining 3 players plead their case to the jury. It was obvious who should win and who had no chance of winning the game. I don’t think I can recall two bigger GOATS in “Survivor” history beyond Teeny and Sue. Teeny’s glee over Genevieve being voted out I can’t understand because you didn’t even vote for her.
This is an interesting Immunity Challenge for the Final 4 that is more elaborate than in past seasons. Why do I feel Sam might have an edge here, and garner his first Immunity Challenge win of the season forcing Rachel to make fire? Welp, so much for Sam having that lead, but Rachel who thought she was correct she was not, and made the fix to win her Fourth Immunity Challenge. Sam was close, but it was apparent he couldn’t outdo puzzle challenge beast Rachel.
Yeah, if Rachel doesn’t win this season, it will be a massive disappointment. So Rachel is in our final 3, and I expect she’s taking Sue, forcing Teeny and Sam to make fire. Rachel was pitting Sam and Teeny against one another to make fire. Teeny got an assist from Rachel on how to make fire. Sam really hasn’t practiced making fire and he struggled, so is the edit giving us a hint that Sam will pull out and upset that could give him some sway with jury.
Rachel’s accolades were highlighted by Jeff at the Tribal Council, but Sam made a great argument about making history doesn’t mean you are guaranteed the win, and Caroline and Andy’s response said a lot. The fact that Teeny’s fire did not snap considering how high her fire was, was stunning, but Sam’s massive fire ignited larger, as the wind worked in Sam’s fire over Teeny. Teeny was defeated and rightfully so; her rope should have snapped considering how strong of a fire she had. You know what this means Jeff: GET RID OF THE FIRE MAKING FINAL 4. It is BS for the players.
Sue is not winning, sorry, she just isn’t. So this is a battle between Rachel and Sam, and I have to give the edge to Rachel simply because she has fought harder in my opinion. She was very strategic made a move that blew people apart and changed the game in an epic way. The Final Tribal Council is underway with Sue, Rachel and Sam explaining to the jury why they should win the $1 million prize.
Sue’s game was all about loyalty, but I don’t think that is enough for me to give her the big prize. Rachel admitted that she snuck up on them during that speech helping her make that massive move in booting out Andy. Sam’s discussed creating a fake idol that helped with ‘Operation Italy.’ Sol wanted Rachel to explain to him a move she made that he wasn’t aware of, and her Final 6 move was a game changer. I’m sorry, but the jury Q&A was just not that impactful this season.
Yeah, Sam and Rachel are going at it and it feels like Sue is an afterthought. Sam had some seriously valid arguments and he’s looking like a dark horse hear.
So the votes are being read and it was a duel between Sam and Rachel during the Final Tribal Council, but Rachel won the game with a 7-1 vote against Sam. Sam’s sole vote came from Kyle, and Sue was a 0 finalist. Very deserving winner in Rachel, and we got a sneak peak at 48. However, I’ll be honest, I’m more looking forward to “Survivor 50” which has already been teased as returning players. I’m just wondering if we’re getting titans, second chance players or just players from the ‘New Era.’ However, with 50 underway legends have to be in the mix they just have to?
