SAN FRANCISCO—On December 12, 2024, the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office disclosed that Thea Hopkins, 44, of San Francisco, was charged in connection to a pushing incident in the Bayview. She was arraigned on December 11 and pleaded not guilty to all charges and denied all allegations.
She is charged with one counts of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury (PC 245(a)(4)) and one count of battery with serious bodily injury (PC 243(d)).
According to court records, on July 3, 2023, Ms. Hopkins is alleged to have committed an assault and battery resulting in great bodily injury on Third Street in Bayview.
The charges announced today are in addition to previously filed charges for assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury (PC 245(a)(4)) and elder abuse with force likely to cause great bodily injury (PC 368(b)(1)) in connection to a March 4, 2024, incident in the Bayview. Prosecutors moved to dismiss and refile the charges in connection to the March 4, 2024, incident with the charges stemming from the July 3, 2023, incident.
Hopkins is currently in custody. Her next court date is December 20, 2024, for the preliminary hearing in this matter.
