SAN FRANCISCO—Just in time for the holiday season, Pop Mart is opening up a second location in Union Square at 200 Powell Street, formerly the location of a Skecher shoe store, but that store was closed down back in 2019.
The soft opening was on Monday, September 15, 2025. During the soft opening, it did not display limited-edition items like Labubu dolls, as they are saving those items for the grand opening. If a customer cannot wait until the opening of late third quarter of this year, which is the closest date that the newspaper San Francisco Chronicle can get, customers can still purchase them at the first San Francisco Pop Mart at Stonestown Galleria in the Sunset District or online.
The second Nintendo store of the United States has opened in May in downtown San Francisco. Also, Zara, a fashion store, is about to open next year.
Pop Mart stores opened in 2010 in China, increasing to 500 stores in 30+ countries around the world. It opened its first Bay Area store in 2023 in Westfield Valley Fair mall in Santa Clara. There is also another one in Pleasanton.
Whenever Pop Mart sells dolls, they quickly fly off the shelves. Customers who love Labubu dolls are celebrities like Rihanna and LISA from Blackpink. Not only do they sell dolls, but they also sell action figures and toys pertaining to different pop culture fandoms.
