SAN FRANCISCO—A suspected gunman  was arrested at AMC Metreon 16 on Tuesday, November 29, after flashing a fake gun at the establishment.

According to reports, at around 7:30 p.m. the suspect began displaying the gun to patrons at the establishment.

Cinema employees contacted the San Francisco Police Department at around 7:55 p.m. to report the incident. Officer Grace Gatpadndan, a spokesperson for the SFPD, tweeted, “Investigating suspicious activity inside the Metreon. Avoid area of 4th/Mission.”

“#SFPD has cleared the building, 1 person in custody, handgun recovered, no injuries to anyone involved. Investigation active, avoid the area,” Gatapandan tweeted at 11:49 p.m. on November 29.

Michael Bodley indicated someone at the theater informed the suspect, who according to reports was acting erratically that they were going to get a manager. “At some point, the man pulled a gun out,” tweeted Bodley. “Another witness said the suspect calmly returned to his seat to watch the movie after pulling out the gun as everyone ran for the exits.”

There were no reports of any injuries during the incident. The name of the suspect has not yet been disclosed to the public.
