SAN FRANCISCO—A car crash near San Francisco City Hall on Wednesday, February 15, in the Civic Center area is being investigated as a homicide after the driver who smashed into others was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head.

Officials from the San Francisco Police Department is currently investigating whether the incident was a random shooting or if the victim, an unidentified, 34 year-old man was targeted near SF City Hall.

A Porsche Cayenne SUV crashed into several parked cars on Eddy Street near Van Ness Avenue at 2:15 a.m. causing a tree to topple over.

No details regarding a suspect or a motive in the case have been released to the public. Investigators are asking for witnesses to come forward, while they search for more information from nearby businesses in the area. This is the eighth reported homicide of the year in San Francisco.
