SAN FRANCISCO—A one-alarm fire that occurred on the 100 block of Fifth Avenue in San Francisco’s Lake Street neighborhood on Monday, March 13 displaced six people and two dogs.

The San Francisco Fire Department first disclosed news of the incident before 9:00 p.m. Firefighters responded to a four-story building located at 191 Fifth Ave. near Presidio Terrace. Upon arrival, they witnessed smoke coming from the top floor.

Shortly after 9:00 p.m., officials noted that the fire was contained. One adult victim, said to be an Inner Richmond resident, suffered from non-fatal injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The SFFD posted on Twitter just after 10:00 p.m. that five adults, one child, and two dogs were displaced and that the “Red Cross and City Services notified and handling.” The victims’ identities have not been revealed.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by officials.
