SAN FRANCISCO—National Park Officers recovered the purse of a San Francisco tourist, Gina Tomaine who had her purse stolen while viewing the Golden Gate Bridge.

Tomaine, a resident from Philadelphia and a first timer to San Francisco informed NBC Bay Area news that someone broke into her car and stole her purse near Baker Beach; a known tourist destination.

According to a police report, her purse was hidden and out of public view. There has been complaints of suspicious people strolling the parking.

Officials pursued the suspect until they crashed their vehicle against a tree while trying to flee the area at 26th Avenue and El Camino Del Mar. The suspect was able to escape without detection. The U.S National Park Officers is asking anyone with information on the incident to contact them.
