SAN FRANCISCO—Detectives from the San Francisco Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred on Friday, April 20, in the Bayview District near Third Street and Quesada Avenue, that left one person dead and five others injured. According to reports, officers received the call at approximately 11 p.m.

While the incident is under investigation, preliminary reports from police have confirmed that six people were shot, with one dead and another with life-threatening injuries. Four others are recovering from gunshot wounds that were non-life-threatening. The victim was identified as Darius Thomas, the Medical Examiner revealed to the SF Examiner on April 23.

The SFPD has not revealed any details regarding a suspect or suspects involved in the shooting. Authorities are asking anyone with information on the shooting to contact the San Francisco Police Department’s 24-Hour Tip Line at (415) 575-4445.
