SAN FRANCISCO—Rapper 2 Chainz, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, was robbed at gun point in downtown San Francisco on Sunday, June 9.  The rapper who was walking alongside several members of his entourage was approached by three individuals, one who possessed a handgun.

According to reports, Epps had his cell phone and wallet stolen during the incident. The rapper has denied reports of being robbed.  He posted the following tweets on Monday, June 10, “Rule #1 if a rapper gets robbed people usually post items that has been taken. Rings, chains, watch, money etc. 2 answer that question.  Rule#2 if a rapper gets shot he usually go to hospital or dies.”

TMZ has released video on their website indicating that a robbery did occur and they have footage of 2 Chainz and his crew fleeing from the robbers. During the incident 2 Chainz is seen taking a fall as one the suspects stands over him.  The rapper was also in the news this week after being arrested on Tuesday, June 11, at Los Angeles International Airport for possession of controlled substances.

He was arrested  for possession of marijuana as well as Promethazine. Both substances had been in his checked luggage. He was apprehended by authorities and taken away to be booked. This is the second time this year that the artist has been arrested for drug possession. In February, he was arrested for marijuana possession in Maryland.
