SAN FRANCISCO—On Sunday, November 29, a San Francisco Police officer was arrested on suspicion of hit and run.

Christopher Kohrs, 38, who has been an officer with the SFPD for 7 years, was arrested on Sunday for hitting pedestrians. The accident occurred around 2 a.m. when a car hit and seriously injured two men in their 40s while they were crossing the street. Both men were taken to the hospital. Their injuries were not life-threatening.

The car, later identified as an orange Dodge Charger, was abandoned by the driver who had left the scene on foot. Kohrs turned himself into the authorities about 10 hours after the incident. Officer Kohrs had been on medical leave during the accident.

Kohrs gained popularity last year when people started taking pictures of him while he was directing traffic in the Castro area and posting the pictures on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Kohrs was noticed not only for his good looks and stunning figure, but for his friendly attitude. Kohrs gained the nickname of “Hot Cop of Castro.” Kohrs has a Facebook fan page with more than 50,000 followers.
