SAN FRANCISCO—On November 23, at around 7:53 a.m., a man wanted for the November 22 stabbing homicide of 44-year-old Jorge Villacorte-Garcia, was arrested by officers from the San Francisco Police Department.

San Francisco Police Homicide investigators developed probable cause to arrest 41-year-old Jose Freddy Matta, who was located on the 100 block of Williams Street in San Francisco. He was taken into custody without incident and was later booked into San Francisco County Jail for murder.

The November 22 stabbing took place on the sidewalk of the unit block of Ceres Street in the Bayview District. Authorities who responded to the incident located Villacorte-Garcia unconscious on the ground and summoned an ambulance. With multiple stab wounds to his upper torso, Villacorte-Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.

Even though an arrest has been made, the incident is still under investigation by the SFPD Homicide Detail.
