SAN FRANCISCO—Muni surveillance footage of the suspect that allegedly attacked a man with a machete at a BART station on January 6 has been released.
According to officials from the San Francisco Police Department, the unidentified suspect has been described as an African-American man, weighing about 200 pounds and standing at 5 feet and 11 inches tall. Police have described the suspect as being between the ages of 30-40 years old.
The suspect attacked a 29 year-old-man from Valencia while at the Civic Center BART station at approximately 8:39 p.m.
The victim suffered several lacerations from the approximately 2-foot long weapon, from his head to his hand. Video footage was captured by a bystander and posted on Twitter.
Anyone with information leading to the identification of this suspect is asked to contact the SFPD at their 24-hour tip line at 415-575-4444 or by texting a tip at TIP4111 starting the message with SFPD. Anyone who spots the suspect is asked to not approach him because he is considered dangerous.
