SAN FRANCISCO— The 166th Annual San Francisco St. Patrick’s Day Parade was held on Saturday, March 11, which has historic ties to the city. The parade draws people from different places and ethnicities.

According to the itinerary on various Facebook’s pages and posts, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade began at 11:30 a.m. at the corner of Second and Market Streets, with over 5,000 participants in attendance.

The San Francisco Horsemen’s Association, Irish Piper and United Iris Societies of San Francisco and the International Police Association United States all made appearances at the parade.

San Francisco News interviewed Ariana M. via Facebook about her experience living the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. “I live in San Francisco and coming to see the Parade is always different. There are so many emotions, the people are high on laughter and celebration is ever lasting” she told the San Francisco News.
