SAN FRANCISCO—A $8,500 cello stolen from a car on April 11 has been returned to its 16 year old owner.
The cello was dropped off by an unknown person On Tuesday, April 21 at Buddah Lounge at Grant street in China Town. According to Wen Zhong, a bartender at Buddah Lounge, the unknown person walked into the bar at around 11:30 p.m. dropped off the cello.
The bartender reported the incident the next day. The same day police returned the cello to its owner.
Police haven’t identified the person who dropped off the cello.
Earlier this month the cello was stolen from an SUV in a garage near Union Square. Surveillance video showed two suspects, a woman and a man. The female broke into the car and took the cello, while the man was waiting in another car nearby. Police are still looking for the thieves.
The male suspect is described as a 30 to 40 year old man with a shaved head; 5 feet and 9 inches tall and 170 ponds. The female suspect is described as a 20 to 30 year old white woman with brown hair; 5 feet and 5 inches tall and 160 pounds.
