SAN FRANCISCO—On Thursday, August 13, the San Francisco Police Department announced that the victim involved in the shooting and death in the South of Market of San Francisco has been identified. The incident occurred at 3:22 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12 in at the City College of San Francisco campus at 88 4th Street near the Fourth and Mission Streets.

The suspect involved in the shooting has been described as a Hispanic male in his 20s. The victim of the shooting has been identified as 21-year-old Frank Beltran by the San Francisco’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Beltran was transported to a hospital following the shooting, where he later died from injuries sustained.

Police searched the Yerba Buena Gardens parking structure, blocking Mission Street between 2nd and 5th Streets. A person was reportedly detained in the parking structure, but authorities have not confirmed if the suspect of the crime has been arrested.
