SAN FRANCISCO—Members of the Golden State Warriors NBA team including players Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry, JaVale McGee, Shaun Livingston, and Kevin Durant visited students in San Francisco’s Bay View neighborhood during a holiday event on Friday, December 16, ABC 7 reported. Thompson, Durant, and Curry played basketball and other games with the children the entire afternoon. The event was part of the Warriors’ “Season of Giving,” providing kids who live in less advantageous neighborhoods with positive holiday experiences.

Students Lei’yan Molina, Keimaree Dews, Aniyah Moore, Aaliyah Madero shared their excitement with ABC 7.

Molina said that the Warriors are her “favorite team in the world.” Dews added that he was excited to see the players in person because “in a real game they are so short, but in person they’re so tall.” Moore shared that the event was one she would never forget, and Madero asserted that the visit “meant the world” to her.

Klay Thompson noted that “it is the most fun we have with the kids.” He recalled that he had met a pro athlete in his youth as well, so the experience with the Bay View kids meant a lot to him.
